one more reason that cricket mobile service sucks
here is a transcript of [another] communique between myself and cricket [the cheap mobile phone carrier]. i started on this about 3-4 months ago and got nowhere, but was enticed by @TheNabbitEct [and others] to try again.
i would really love to hear some fellow out-crying on this so that maybe cricket will get the idea that they are [a] making false advertising claims, and [b] forcing their highest level of customer to live in a technologically-hadnicapped age by using their service! no more i say!!!! oh, and - of course - follow me @thinbegin and give up a tweet about this too.
anyway, here’s the transcript [note: i ws filling out a form provided on the mycricket site, so that may explain informal opening of this letter]:
Hi there. I have called about this, but the customer service on the telephone was atrocious.
Here’s my question/issue: why doesn’t Cricket support short-code text messaging?
There are many great services out there that I, as a cricket customer, cannot participate in because they [the other services] have gone out of their way, as a benefit to their customers, to secure an SMS short-code. The fact that, “Cricket is not participating in this event at this time” [the response I get when I try to use a short-code] is simple unacceptable and will definitely be the major factor when I switch to another mobile service provider.
Some of the services that I have tried, that have worked with *any* other mobile provider that I have had, are: Google, Twitter, and most recently Nabbit. There are others as well, like my banking institution, but I thought I’d only use the first 3 that popped into my mind! What can be done about this? Not having these services available to me will guarantee my moving to another carrier! I live a *very* web interactive life [as do most people these days] and don’t consider short-code SMS usability optional.
Finally, I have been contacted directly by a couple of these third party services requesting that I try to do something about this. They all understand that Cricket doesn’t need another black-eye in the public opinion arena. So I ask again, what does Cricket need to do to rectify this situation and bring *true* “Unlimited” SMS texting to their [woefully misinformed] clients that are paying for unlimited SMS texting?
Sincerely…..
